The wedding was phenomenal!
Being three of a handful of Americans there, we managed to fit in nicely. The initial ceremony took place over 5 1/2 hours. Each step was specific and elaborate and full of symbology. Bravish and Mahavi were beautifully dressed and diligently focused as they followed the priest's directions and specific customs.
The quaint room was filled with music, musings and photographers capturing every moment. Most women wore colorful Saris and the men wore long shirts over pajama-like pants. During the day-long event, several meals were served and guests co-mingled in a festive and casual atmosphere while the actual ceremony and ritualistic observances took place.
Colorful flowers dominated the room as well as being an integral part of the wedding symbolism. As you can tell from our picture with the married couple, expansive floral adornments also accentuated their wedding attire.
The pictures capture a few special moments as family and friends posed with the newly married couple in honor and appreciation of this momentous occasion.
After lunch, we took a short break to rest back at our hotel and returned to the temple for the "fun" part of the event which included wedding games and jovial conversation. -- Linda
